'What’s Next?'
14 November 2011
In this special Winter issue of Foam Magazine for our jubilee year the theme What's Next? arose. What's next? It's a simple question that can be asked at any given moment. A simple question, but so hard to answer.Because who knows what will be next? Who dares to look into the crystal ball and tell us what the future might bring. It's a difficult question, but a truly fascinating one. It's a question that Foam has asked for the past year in an effort to define the next step for photography, photographers and a photography museum. It's a question asked with good reason.

How do you sketch an image of the 8 million citizens of New York? You can't photograph them all. Can you? Photographer Brandon Stanton is at least trying. At this moment he has photographed 3.000 people in the streets of New York. And still counting. Humans of New York shows the New Yorkers in their natural habitat. It's a living project, with daily new portraits added. If you want to join the project, check the Humans of New York Facebook-page.
